Workshop on enforcement of the Law on Consumer Protection

The workshop was organised jointly with the Market Inspectorate of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and with the support of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”.

The EU funded project Free Movement of Goods held a workshop on Wednesday, 27 November on enforcement of the Kosovo Law on Consumer Protection for market inspectors from all municipalities in Kosovo, including those with Serb-majority. 

The workshop was organised jointly with the Market Inspectorate of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and with the support of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”.

The workshop was conducted by two FMG experts - Vitomir Fister, Team Leader of the Project, and Andrejka Grlic, senior short-term expert. 

General insights were delivered to the inspectors regarding the overall objective of the Free Movement of Goods project and the significant importance on transposing EU rules on safety of products and particularly on protection of consumer economic rights. 

Second objective of the workshop was to share Slovenian experience on supervision of the Law on Consumer Protection, functioning of the Market Inspectorate and its practice regarding relevant matters such as: product labelling, price indicators, unfair commercial practises, distance selling and others.

The workshop was attended by 60 market inspectors from all over Kosovo including a selection of 13 students from the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”, and was moderated by Ruzhdi Shehu, Deputy Chair of Coordination Body for Market Surveillance.
