The new Law on Consumer Protection bans 23 unfair practices, regulates seasonal sales, pricing, labelling, and provides 2 years of warranty for consumers.

Application of the law depends on active and correct enforcement.

In order for the Inspectors to be able to meet these challenges, and to understand their role under the new Law on Consumer Protection, published last June, the EU funded FMG project and the Market Inspectorate of MTI organised a training on the new Law on 21 March.

The workshop covered both the legal principles as well as enforcement methodology. The workshop also provided details on the functioning of market inspectors in EU countries, such as in Belgium.
