Two Slovenian experts from the EU funded Free Movement of Goods project held a workshop on support to joint activities of Kosovo customs and Market Surveillance Authorities on Wednesday, 17 April.

Senior experts on market surveillance, Mrs. Andrejka Grlic, and customs, Mr. Vojko Otovic, explained how institutions are set up in Slovenia and provided practical examples of the cooperation between involved institutions and customs.

They reiterated to the representatives of the inspectorates on the need to coordinating their work at the national level. It was discussed which document is needed for better and quicker response to the responsible inspectorate in order to not duplicate inspection procedures and facilitate an efficient and faster service.

The recommendations from the workshop for Kosovo institutions are to prepare template forms for notification of the suspension of the release for free circulation, and to increase capacities of customs to enable them to effectively carry out trainings in different fields of product safety.
